Pros
- Inventive, Recognized Shapes: Cascatelli, developed over three years with Sporkful podcast host Dan Pashman, was named one of TIME's Best Inventions of 2021 and sells at $32.94 for a 6-pack.
- Traditional Method, Clear Labels: Every shape is bronze-die extruded and slow-dried, most of the range is certified Organic or Made With Organic with the USDA seal on the box, and all of it is vegan and OK Kosher certified.
- A Gift That Ends on Its Own: The Pasta Club sends six pastas and a six-recipe booklet each quarter, $110 for two boxes or $215 for four, with contiguous US shipping included and no auto-renewal.
Cons
- Sfoglini's checkout offered no shipping to Canada, Australia or the UK in our November 2026 test, even though its FAQ says it sells internationally, and Hawaii was quoted about $57 by Priority Mail for two boxes, so readers outside the contiguous US should check the cart's shipping quote before paying.
- Food cannot be returned, refunds cover only items that arrive damaged or wrong within 30 days, and standard UPS Ground Saver delivery takes 7 to 10 days in transit, so order gifts early and open each box when it arrives.
The Verdict
What sets Sfoglini apart is original, sauce-catching pasta shapes made the slow, traditional way in an American factory: Sfoglini started in Brooklyn in 2012 and moved in 2018 to a 37,000-square-foot factory in Coxsackie, New York, where it says it now makes more than 10,000 pounds of pasta a day. Every shape is pushed through bronze dies, which leave a rough surface for sauce to cling to, then slow-dried. Most of the range is certified Organic or Made With Organic, with the USDA seal on the front of the box, and all of it is vegan and certified kosher by OK Kosher. The best-known shape, Cascatelli, was developed over three years with Sporkful podcast host Dan Pashman and named one of TIME's Best Inventions of 2021; Vesuvio and Quattrotini followed. A 2024 WAMC report says the company is now owned by a private equity firm, and its boxes also sell through grocers nationwide, Amazon and FreshDirect. Classic organic semolina shapes such as Radiators, Rigatoni, Trumpets and Zucca cost $5.99 a pound or $29.94 for a 6-pack, specialty shapes such as Saffron Malloreddus and Einkorn Ziti cost $7.99 or $41.94 for six, and the Sporkful shapes sell in 6-packs at $32.94. Samplers of four favorites cost $24.99 to $26.99. The prepaid Pasta Club sends six pastas and a recipe booklet each quarter, $110 for two boxes or $215 for four, with contiguous US shipping included and no auto-renewal. Store orders ship by UPS Ground Saver with a 7 to 10 day transit time, and the site's banner lists $5.99 shipping under $50, $4.99 from $50 to $74.99 and free shipping from $75 in the contiguous US. The reservations are reach and returns. In our checkout test, Canada, Australia and UK addresses got no shipping option, despite an FAQ that says Sfoglini sells internationally, and Hawaii was quoted about $57 for two boxes. Food cannot be sent back; refunds cover items that arrive damaged or wrong, within 30 days. Sfoglini has no Trustpilot or BBB profile, and the site's own widget shows 4.94 stars from 882 reviews. Build a cart of $75 or more, order holiday gifts by early December and open boxes on arrival.

Sfoglini was founded in Brooklyn in 2012; its site names founder Scott Ketchum, and chef Steve Gonzalez co-founded the company. In 2018 it moved to a 37,000-square-foot factory in West Coxsackie, New York, and WAMC reported in February 2024 that the company is now owned by a private equity firm. Store orders ship Monday to Friday by UPS Ground Saver, 7 to 10 days in transit, at $5.99 under $50, $4.99 from $50 to $74.99 and free from $75 in the contiguous US, while Alaska and Hawaii pay Priority Mail rates. Our 1 November 2026 checkout test found no shipping option for Canada, Australia or the UK.

Sfoglini: what to know before you buy
Sfoglini makes bronze-die, slow-dried pasta in New York, from classic semolina shapes to the Cascatelli it created with Dan Pashman. Here is what it costs, how shipping works and how to choose.
Shipping, returns & warranty
Sfoglini ships store orders Monday to Friday, in the order received, by UPS Ground Saver with a 7 to 10 day transit time. The site's banner lists $5.99 shipping on orders under $50, $4.99 from $50 to $74.99 and free shipping from $75 within the contiguous US. Alaska and Hawaii orders pay Priority Mail rates; our checkout test quoted about $57 for two boxes to Honolulu.
The FAQ says international orders are possible, but on 1 November 2026 the checkout offered no shipping option for Canada, Australia or the UK. Pasta Club boxes ship only within the US.
For holiday gifts, Sfoglini's page from last season set December 10 as the cut-off for free and Ground Saver shipping, with UPS Ground needed for later orders; the 2026 dates were not posted on 1 November, so order by early December.
Food cannot be returned. Within 30 days, Sfoglini refunds or replaces items that arrived damaged or were sent in error; email [email protected] with proof of purchase. Dry pasta carries no warranty, but boxes keep for two years from production.
Sfoglini product lines
Organic semolina shapes include Radiators, Rigatoni, Trumpets, Cavatelli, Zucca and Reginetti, at $5.99 a box or $29.94 for six, plus Bucatini and Bigoli in 6-packs.
Whole grain shapes blend organic semolina with stone-milled grains: Whole Grain Radiators, Whole Grain Reginetti and Whole Grain Trumpets, Rye Trumpets made with Hudson Valley rye, and Einkorn Ziti.
Specialty and limited shapes include Saffron Malloreddus and Garlic Radiators at $7.99 a box. The Sporkful collection, created with podcast host Dan Pashman, covers Cascatelli, Vesuvio and Quattrotini at $32.94 a 6-pack.
For gifts there are samplers at $24.99 to $26.99, a $35.99 Sporkful Collection Variety Pack and the prepaid Pasta Club.
How to choose
For everyday cooking, start with a semolina 6-pack of a shape that suits your sauces: Rigatoni or Radiators for chunky ragù, Trumpets for creamy sauces and Reginetti for lighter, silky sauces.
If you are curious about the shapes Sfoglini is known for, the Best of Sfoglini Pasta Sampler ($26.99) includes Cascatelli, Semolina Trumpets, Whole Grain Reginetti and Saffron Malloreddus with four recipes.
For a gift that lasts, the Pasta Club sends six pastas and a recipe booklet each quarter and does not renew on its own. It ships only within the US, and you can send Sfoglini's e-card on the day and place the order afterward.
Deals & pricing
Sfoglini's main saving is buying by the case: a 6-pack of semolina or whole grain shapes costs $29.94, or $4.99 a box against $5.99 singly, and specialty 6-packs drop from $7.99 to $6.99 a box. Orders of $75 or more ship free within the contiguous US, so two 6-packs plus a sampler clear the line.
The store shows no 'was' prices and we found no standing public discount code, so we list none. If you are waiting for a holiday sale, set a price alert on In-Right's /watchlist/ page.

Sfoglini: questions people ask
Straight answers about Sfoglini, then how this review was written and stays independent.
About Sfoglini
Is Sfoglini legit?
Yes. Sfoglini has made pasta since 2012, first in Brooklyn and since 2018 in a 37,000-square-foot factory in West Coxsackie, New York, and its pasta is sold by grocers nationwide, Amazon and FreshDirect. Its Cascatelli shape was named one of TIME's Best Inventions of 2021. It has no Trustpilot or BBB profile, so most feedback comes from retailer reviews and the store's own widget.
Is Sfoglini pasta organic?
Mostly. Sfoglini says the majority of its pasta is certified Organic or Made With Organic, and those boxes carry the USDA Organic seal at the bottom left of the front panel. Check that seal on the shape you want. All Sfoglini pasta is vegan and kosher certified by OK Kosher.
Is Sfoglini pasta gluten-free?
No. Sfoglini says all of its pasta varieties contain wheat, including the whole grain, rye and einkorn shapes, so none of them suit a gluten-free diet.
Does Sfoglini ship to Canada, Australia or the UK?
Not in our test. The FAQ says shipping outside the US is calculated at checkout, but on 1 November 2026 the checkout returned no shipping option for Canadian, Australian or UK addresses. Pasta Club boxes ship only within the US, and Alaska and Hawaii orders pay Priority Mail rates.
What is Sfoglini's return policy?
Sfoglini does not accept returns of food. Within 30 days, it refunds or replaces items that arrived damaged or were sent in error, but not items you dislike or late deliveries. Email [email protected] with your proof of purchase; the buyer pays any return postage.
Does the Sfoglini Pasta Club auto-renew?
No. The Pasta Club is prepaid, $110 for two quarterly boxes or $215 for four, each with six pastas and a recipe booklet, and it ends after the last box. Shipping to the contiguous US is included, and you can ask to skip or pause any box that has not shipped yet.
About this review
Is this Sfoglini review sponsored?
No. Sfoglini did not pay for this write-up, see it before publication, or have any say in the verdict. If we earn anything it is a commission after you buy, and it comes out of the merchant’s margin rather than your price.
How was the Sfoglini assessed?
By using it and by checking the claims made about it against what it actually does. Where our time with something has been limited, the review says so rather than implying more testing than happened.
What else have you reviewed in Food & Drinks?
Everything in Food & Drinks sits in the review library, where you can filter by budget and sort by rating, price or how recently it landed.
Do you update reviews after publishing?
Yes — when a product changes, when a price moves for good, or when we get something wrong. Corrections are made on the piece itself with a note saying what changed.
