Pros
- The World's Biggest Wi-Fi Brand: IDC ranked TP-Link the No. 1 provider of Wi-Fi devices by worldwide shipments for 12 consecutive years through 2022, and it sells in more than 170 countries.
- Mesh and Routers for Every Home: Deco mesh kits run from Wi-Fi 6 models such as the X55 to Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 systems like the XE75 and BE65, alongside Archer routers from entry level to flagship.
- A Broad, Affordable Smart Home: Tapo cameras, video doorbells, smart plugs, bulbs and robot vacuums are controlled from one app, and Omada scales the same networking to small businesses.
Cons
- Smart-home devices live in the Tapo app and networking in the Deco or Tether apps, a split that takes a moment to learn.
- Prices, models and warranty terms vary by country, and In-Right currently links TP-Link's France and Australia stores, so shoppers elsewhere should check they are on their own regional site.
The Verdict
What sets TP-Link apart is value across the whole connected home, from the brand that ships more Wi-Fi gear than anyone: TP-Link was founded in 1996 and, according to IDC, was the world's No. 1 provider of Wi-Fi devices by shipments for 12 consecutive years through 2022, selling in more than 170 countries. Since October 2024 the business outside mainland China has been run by TP-Link Systems Inc., headquartered in Irvine, California, which does not sell products in mainland China. The range covers Deco whole-home mesh Wi-Fi, Archer routers, range extenders and adapters, the Tapo smart-home line and Omada networking for businesses, and the company announced its first Wi-Fi 8 router platform, Archer 8, for an October 2026 launch, along with an AI assistant called Aireal at CES 2026. For most homes, the Deco mesh kit is the upgrade to make first. Units placed around the house share one network name and hand devices between them, which fixes dead zones without rewiring, and the range runs from affordable Wi-Fi 6 kits such as the Deco X55 to tri-band Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 systems such as the XE75 and BE65; in Australia, a partner reseller lists a Deco X55 single unit at about A$150 and Deco systems with a three-year warranty. For a single weak room, a range extender is the cheaper fix. Tapo then adds cameras, video doorbells, smart plugs, bulbs and robot vacuums controlled from a single app, at prices that make it easy to add another room, and Omada access points, switches and gateways take the same approach into offices and small businesses. The reservations are small. Networking and smart-home devices use different apps, and the flagship features, Wi-Fi 7, multi-gig ports and tri-band backhaul, sit on the pricier models, so match the model to your internet plan rather than buying the biggest kit. Prices, availability and warranty differ by country, and In-Right currently links TP-Link's France and Australia stores. Choose the Deco or Archer model that fits your home and connection speed, and TP-Link is the most sensible place to fix weak Wi-Fi.

Prices are set by each regional store. In Australia, partner reseller listings put a Deco X55 single unit at about A$150, a Deco XE75 single unit at about A$262 and a Deco BE65 Pro two-pack at about A$864, with an extra Deco M4 unit at about A$73.
Deco mesh units share one network name and hand devices between them, with Wi-Fi 6, 6E and Wi-Fi 7 options. Archer routers run from entry level to multi-gig gaming models, with the Wi-Fi 8 Archer 8 platform announced for October 2026, and Tapo cameras, doorbells, plugs, bulbs and robot vacuums are set up in one app.

About this review
How this was written, who paid for what, and how the verdict stays independent.
Is this TP-Link review sponsored?
No. TP-Link did not pay for this write-up, see it before publication, or have any say in the verdict. If we earn anything it is a commission after you buy, and it comes out of the merchant’s margin rather than your price.
How was the TP-Link assessed?
By using it and by checking the claims made about it against what it actually does. Where our time with something has been limited, the review says so rather than implying more testing than happened.
What else have you reviewed in Tech?

Yes — when a product changes, when a price moves for good, or when we get something wrong. Corrections are made on the piece itself with a note saying what changed.
