Pros

  • Batch-Level Traceability: Every jar carries a unique QR code that opens its batch number, best-before date, independent MGO lab certificate, harvest region and beekeeper, so you can check the grade you paid for.
  • A Clear Grade Ladder: An 8.82 oz jar costs $55 at MGO 600+, $80 at MGO 850+ and $120 at MGO 1000+, and Subscribe & Save takes 20% off with deliveries every 2, 4, 6 or 8 weeks.
  • Certified B Corporation: Manukora Limited has been a Certified B Corp since January 2022 with a B Impact score of 105.4, and US orders ship from an American warehouse with no import duties.

Cons

  • Honey cannot be returned for a change of mind and the high grades are expensive, with MGO 1200+ at $250 a jar, so start with an MGO 600+ jar at $55 or a 10-pack of MGO 850+ stick packets at $45 before you subscribe or trade up.
  • The US store's written policy ships only within the US, the UK has its own store in pounds covering mainland Britain, and we found no Australian store and could not confirm Canadian delivery, so buyers outside the US should check their country before ordering.

The Verdict

What sets Manukora apart is mānuka honey whose grade you can verify jar by jar: Mānuka honey is one of the most counterfeited foods, and its price rests on methylglyoxal (MGO), the compound its grade numbers measure in milligrams per kilogram. Manukora prints a minimum MGO on every label, from MGO 200+ in a squeeze bottle to limited MGO 1800+ harvests, and gives each jar a unique QR code that opens the batch number, best-before date, an independent laboratory's MGO certificate, the harvest region and the beekeeper. The company says every batch is also checked for glyphosate, antibiotics and GMOs. Labels lead with MGO rather than the UMF quality mark, which Manukora says it holds at company level. Founder Mike Bell, a former KPMG accountant, learned beekeeping under Bryce Hooton in Matamata and began selling on Amazon in 2015; Manukora Limited of Te Aroha has been a Certified B Corporation since 2022. US prices are set per jar. An 8.82 oz (250 g) jar costs $55 at MGO 600+, $80 at MGO 850+, $120 at MGO 1000+, $250 at MGO 1200+ and $370 at MGO 1400+, and 1.1 lb jars cost $100, $145 and $240 for the first three grades. MGO 850+ also comes in a 12.7 oz squeeze bottle ($110) and stick packets ($45 for ten, $120 for 30), and Superhoney Starter Kits pair a jar with free gifts the store values at $25, from $64 for MGO 850+ when we checked. Subscribe & Save takes 20% off, with deliveries every 2, 4, 6 or 8 weeks that you can pause or cancel. US orders over $75 ship free from a US warehouse in about 4 to 7 days, and next-day delivery costs $30. There are trade-offs. Honey is a food, so there are no change-of-mind returns; damaged or defective jars are credited or replaced when you send photos, and the terms ask for notice within 10 business days. The US store ships only within the US, the UK has a separate store in pounds, and we found no Australian store. Manukora's own pages describe wellness benefits we do not repeat here, so treat it as a premium honey. Independent reviews are sparse, with one Trustpilot review, so start with an MGO 600+ jar or stick packets, scan the QR code, and subscribe once you know the grade you like.

Traceable New Zealand Mānuka Honey Graded From MGO 200+ to MGO 1800+

Manukora Limited is a New Zealand honey company registered in Te Aroha in 2015, owned by Ora Group Limited and founded by Mike Bell; US orders are sold by Ora Foods Inc, 9350 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 203, Beverly Hills, CA 90212 ([email protected], +64 9 217 3866). It sources from a network of independent beekeepers in remote parts of New Zealand and has been a Certified B Corporation since January 2022. The range covers monofloral mānuka honey by MGO grade, squeeze bottles, stick packets, honey blends, tasting kits and accessories.

An 8.82 oz jar of MGO 600+ costs $55, MGO 850+ $80, MGO 1000+ $120, MGO 1200+ $250 and MGO 1400+ $370, with 1.1 lb jars of the first three grades at $100, $145 and $240. The MGO 850+ Squeeze Bottle (12.7 oz) costs $110, MGO 850+ Stick Packets $45 for ten or $120 for 30, and the limited Sanctuary Coast Harvest MGO 1800+ (230 g) was listed at $560. Subscribe & Save takes 20% off, so the 8.82 oz MGO 850+ jar costs $64 on subscription.

US orders ship from a US warehouse with no import duties and usually arrive in 4 to 7 days; orders over $75 ship free, next-day delivery costs $30 when ordered by 11:30 a.m. Mountain time, and orders placed after noon Central on Friday are packed on Monday. A separate UK store, manukora.co.uk, delivers to mainland Britain free over £50 (or £6 below) by DPD, while the US policy says it does not ship beyond the US and we found no Australian store. Each jar's QR code links to its batch's independent MGO certificate, and product pages carry the standard FDA disclaimer.

Honey cannot be returned for a change of mind, and orders cannot be cancelled once shipped; if a jar arrives damaged or defective, you send photos including the shipping label and Manukora arranges a credit or replacement. Subscriptions renew and charge automatically until you cancel in your account, and the terms are governed by New Zealand law. Trustpilot lists one review (TrustScore 3.2, unclaimed profile), the store's own pages cite more than 16,000 five-star reviews, and we found no FDA warning letter naming Manukora.

Buyer's guide

Manukora: what to know before you buy

Manukora sells New Zealand mānuka honey by tested MGO grade, with a QR code on every jar. Here is how the grades are priced, how shipping and subscriptions work, and what its policies cover.

Shipping, returns & warranty

US orders ship from a warehouse in the US, so there are no import duties, and they usually arrive in 4 to 7 days by UPS. Orders over $75 ship free; smaller orders pay the rate shown at checkout. Next-day delivery costs $30 if you order by 11:30 a.m. Mountain time and the items are in stock, and orders placed after noon Central on Friday are packed the following Monday. We found no published Christmas order-by date.

The US policy says Manukora cannot ship beyond the US. The UK has its own store, manukora.co.uk, which delivers to mainland England, Scotland and Wales by DPD in 1 to 3 working days, free over £50 or on subscriptions and £6 otherwise. We found no Australian store and could not confirm delivery to Canada.

Honey is a food, so there are no change-of-mind returns and no cancellations once an order ships. If a jar arrives damaged, send photos of the jar, the outer packaging and the shipping label; for a defective product Manukora explains how to return it and gives a credit or replacement. The terms ask for notice within 10 business days of delivery.

Manukora product lines

The core range is monofloral mānuka honey sold by minimum MGO grade: MGO 600+, 850+ (the best seller), 1000+, 1200+ and 1400+ in 8.82 oz jars, with 1.1 lb jars of the first three. Small limited harvests such as Sanctuary Coast Harvest MGO 1800+ appear from time to time.

For everyday convenience there are 12.7 oz squeeze bottles (MGO 200+ at $45 and MGO 850+ at $110) and MGO 850+ stick packets in packs of 10 or 30. Superhoney Starter Kits pair a jar with free gifts the store values at $25, and Bioactive Blends mix the honey with other ingredients in jars or daily packets.

The UK store carries a shorter list in 225 g jars, from MGO 400+ at £45 to MGO 1000+ at £90.

How to read MGO grades and test reports

The number on the label is the minimum methylglyoxal content in milligrams per kilogram, so MGO 850+ means at least 850 mg/kg. Higher grades are rarer and cost more: an 8.82 oz jar runs from $55 at MGO 600+ to $370 at MGO 1400+.

Many other brands use the UMF rating, which tests MGO together with leptosperin, DHA and HMF. As a rough guide, UMF 20+ corresponds to about MGO 829, so Manukora's MGO 850+ sits around UMF 20+. Manukora's labels lead with MGO, and the company says it holds UMF certification at company level.

To check a jar, scan the QR code on the lid. It shows the batch number, best-before date, the MGO certificate from an independent laboratory, the harvest region and the beekeeper. Choose a grade by budget and taste: the lower grades are milder and better value for daily use, while the top grades are specialty purchases.

Deals & pricing

Subscribe & Save is the steadiest discount: 20% off jars such as the 8.82 oz MGO 850+ ($64 instead of $80), delivered every 2, 4, 6 or 8 weeks, with pause and cancel controls in your account. Superhoney Starter Kits are the other regular offer, starting at $64 for an 8.82 oz MGO 850+ jar plus free gifts when we checked.

Free US shipping starts at $75, so two mid-grade jars or a 1.1 lb jar usually clear it. Prices on the top grades rarely drop, so compare cost per ounce before trading up.

Manukora: questions people ask

Straight answers about Manukora, then how this review was written and stays independent.

About Manukora

Is Manukora legit?

Yes. Manukora is a New Zealand mānuka honey brand founded by Mike Bell, run by Manukora Limited (registered in 2015) and sold in the US by Ora Foods Inc of Beverly Hills, California. It has been a Certified B Corporation since January 2022, and each jar carries a QR code linking to its batch's independent MGO test. Independent reviews are sparse: Trustpilot shows one review.

What does MGO mean on Manukora honey?

MGO stands for methylglyoxal, the compound that sets mānuka honey apart, measured in milligrams per kilogram. A jar labeled MGO 850+ is certified to contain at least 850 mg/kg. Manukora's labels show MGO rather than the UMF mark, and each jar's QR code opens the lab certificate for its batch.

What is the Manukora return policy?

Because honey is a food, Manukora does not accept returns for a change of mind, and orders cannot be cancelled once shipped. If a jar arrives damaged or defective, email [email protected] with photos of the jar, the packaging and the shipping label, and the team arranges a credit or replacement. The terms ask for notice within 10 business days of delivery.

Does Manukora ship to Canada, the UK or Australia?

The US store's shipping policy says it ships only within the US. UK shoppers use manukora.co.uk, which delivers to mainland England, Scotland and Wales, free over £50 or £6 below. We found no Australian store, and we could not confirm delivery to Canada.

How does the Manukora subscription work?

Subscribe & Save takes 20% off, so an 8.82 oz MGO 850+ jar costs $64 instead of $80, with deliveries every 2, 4, 6 or 8 weeks. The subscription renews and charges your card automatically until you cancel, which you do by logging in and opening Subscriptions; product pages say you can pause or cancel anytime.

How much does Manukora honey cost?

An 8.82 oz jar costs $55 at MGO 600+, $80 at MGO 850+, $120 at MGO 1000+, $250 at MGO 1200+ and $370 at MGO 1400+. Larger 1.1 lb jars cost $100, $145 and $240 for the first three grades, stick packets start at $45 for ten, and US orders over $75 ship free.

About this review

Is this Manukora review sponsored?

No. Manukora did not pay for this write-up, see it before publication, or have any say in the verdict. If we earn anything it is a commission after you buy, and it comes out of the merchant’s margin rather than your price.

How was the Manukora assessed?

By using it and by checking the claims made about it against what it actually does. Where our time with something has been limited, the review says so rather than implying more testing than happened.

What else have you reviewed in Food & Drinks?

Everything in Food & Drinks sits in the review library, where you can filter by budget and sort by rating, price or how recently it landed.

Do you update reviews after publishing?

Yes — when a product changes, when a price moves for good, or when we get something wrong. Corrections are made on the piece itself with a note saying what changed.
