Lobsterboys ships only within the United States, every order by Priority Overnight in a styrofoam cooler inside a cardboard box. Order by 12 PM Eastern for next-day delivery between 8 AM and 8 PM local time; you choose a delivery date at checkout, and deliveries run Tuesday to Saturday. There are no deliveries on November 26 and 27, December 25 and 26 or January 1, and the holiday cut-offs are noon Eastern on November 24, December 23 and December 30. Canada, Australia and the UK are not served, and our checkout test on 1 November 2026 gave no rate for Hawaii.

Shipping is priced at checkout. A Halves Family Box was quoted $39.94 to New York, $58.60 to Miami, $60.81 to Chicago, $65.24 to Los Angeles and $78.74 to Anchorage; two single Halves cost $74.38 to New York and $118.84 to Los Angeles.

Nothing can be returned. If an order does not arrive on its scheduled day, Lobsterboys reships it free or refunds it in full. For dead or damaged lobsters, email [email protected] within 6 hours of delivery with one continuous unboxing video started before you open the box, close-ups of each lobster (flip any that are not moving), a photo on a scale and photos of the label, the box and the cooler. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 10 business days. A wrong or inaccessible address voids a claim, so double-check it and be home on delivery day.

The store sells live, wild-caught hard-shell lobsters graded by weight. Single lobsters run from Chicks (1 to 1.24 lb) through Quarters, Halves, Small Selects, Deuces (2 to 2.49 lb), Jumbos, Medium Jumbos and Large Jumbos (4 to 6 lb) to XL Jumbos of 6 to 8 lb.

Family Boxes hold 8 to 10 lb of one grade, such as seven Chicks, five Halves or four Deuces, and Chef Boxes hold 24 to 25 lb, from 22 Chicks to three XL Jumbos. Culls are sold by the box only. E-gift cards run from $50 to $450 and physical gift cards from $100 to $200. There are no lobster rolls, tails or cooked lobster meat.

Lobsters under 2 lb must be ordered in pairs; from 2 lb up you can order one. Smaller grades such as Chicks and Quarters cost less per pound and suit one lobster per person; Deuces and Jumbos give more meat per lobster for sharing, and Large and XL Jumbos are centerpiece sizes. The FAQ suggests about 7 minutes of boiling for a 2 lb lobster.

Because shipping is overnight and priced by order, a Family Box usually makes more sense than a handful of singles: in our test, two single Halves cost more to ship than a 9 lb box. Keep lobsters in their box in the refrigerator, never in fresh water, do not freeze them live, and cook them within 24 hours of delivery.

On 1 November 2026 single lobsters cost $14.45 to $17.50 a pound, Family Boxes $112.64 to $140.67 and Chef Boxes $256.25 to $398.75, with Culls the cheapest at $10.25 a pound in a Chef Box. The whole store showed a 25% off banner against its own list prices. Lobster prices follow the catch and were higher in 2025 snapshots of the site, so the per-pound price is the number to compare.
