Pros

  • Raised Under a Beef Specialist: The herd is overseen by Dr. Ryan Rhoades, profiled by Colorado State University as a beef extension specialist, with calves grazed on grass and then fed for about 450 days.
  • Thawed Boxes Are Replaced: Beef leaves frozen in an insulated box with dry ice, and anything that arrives damaged, thawed or compromised is replaced at no cost when reported within 24 hours.
  • Gifts, Bundles and Cow Shares: Gift boxes run from $176.40 to $514, a 1/8 cow share costs $1,625, and Subscribe & Save takes 15% off deliveries every two weeks or every month.

Cons

  • This is American Wagyu, a Wagyu and Angus cross that the company says is at least 50% Wagyu, not Japanese A5, and its marbling scores of 8 to 10 are the company's own figures, so treat it as a premium domestic steak and compare cuts by weight and price.
  • Miraflora delivers only within the US, takes orders of $100 or more and charges $20 to $35 for shipping below $300, while beef cannot be returned, so plan one larger order, be home on delivery day and email [email protected] with photos within 24 hours if anything is wrong.

The Verdict

What sets Miraflora Wagyu apart is that it is a Colorado farm brand with a beef specialist running its herd, rather than a reseller of imported cuts: Miraflora Naturals, which runs a 160-acre family farm in Boulder County that USDA Rural Development describes as certified organic, launched Miraflora Wagyu in February 2024. Its cattle descend from Japanese Kuroge Wagyu genetics and are crossed with Angus, which the company calls American Wagyu and says is at least 50% Wagyu. Dr. Ryan Rhoades, whom Colorado State University profiles as a beef extension specialist, oversees the cattle: calves graze native grass, are backgrounded on grass for 90 to 120 days and are then fed a formulated ration for about 450 days. The company says its cuts score 8 to 10 on the Beef Marbling Scale, a figure we could not check independently, and it also sells at the Boulder Farmers Market. A 14 oz ribeye costs $85, a 6 oz filet mignon $50, an 8 oz top sirloin $23 and ground beef $15 a pound or $99 for 10 pounds. Gift boxes range from the $176.40 New to Wagyu Gift Box to the $514 Large Holiday Gift Bundle, and cow shares run from $1,202 for a Freezer Filler to $5,357 for half a cow. Subscribe & Save takes 15% off repeat deliveries every two weeks or every month, and subscriptions can be skipped or cancelled at any time. Orders must reach $100, shipping is free over $300, and below that the checkout quoted $25 for standard ground or $35 for express to New York. Beef ships early in the week, frozen with dry ice, by two-day air from Denver. The reservations are scope and a thin record. This is not Japanese A5, the no-hormones and marbling claims are the company's own, and we found no Trustpilot or BBB profile, only a handful of on-site reviews. Several cuts, including the New York strip, were sold out on 1 November, the site states its ship days two different ways and publishes no Christmas order-by date, and delivery is US only. Order well before mid-December for gifts, clear freezer space first, be home on delivery day, and email photos within 24 hours if a box arrives warm.

American Wagyu Steaks, Gift Boxes and Cow Shares From a Colorado Family Farm

Miraflora Wagyu LLC, based at 8187 Ouray Rd in Longmont, Colorado, was launched in February 2024 by Miraflora Naturals, which runs a 160-acre family farm in Boulder County that USDA Rural Development describes as certified organic. Dr. Ryan Rhoades, profiled by Colorado State University as a beef extension specialist, oversees the cattle, which are Wagyu crossed with Angus and at least 50% Wagyu by the company's account. The range covers steaks, roasts, ribs, ground beef, burgers, sausages, hot dogs, gift boxes and cow shares.

A 14 oz Wagyu Ribeye Steak costs $85, a 6 oz Filet Mignon $50, an 8 oz Top Sirloin $23, Korean Short Ribs $30 a pound and Wagyu Ground Beef $15 a pound or $99 for 10 pounds. The New to Wagyu Gift Box costs $176.40, the Wagyu Steak Lovers' Bundle $441 and the Large Holiday Gift Bundle $514. Cow shares run from $1,202 for a Freezer Filler to $1,625 for an eighth of a cow and $5,357 for half.

Beef ships frozen in an insulated container with dry ice, by two-day air from Denver or UPS ground along Colorado's Front Range, early in the week so it does not sit in transit over a weekend. Orders must total $100, shipping is free over $300, and below that the checkout quoted $25 for standard ground or $35 for express to New York ($20 and $30 within Colorado). Miraflora delivers only within the US, with no checkout option for Canada, Australia or the UK. Subscribe & Save takes 15% off deliveries every two weeks or monthly, and subscriptions can be skipped, rescheduled or cancelled at any time.

Beef cannot be returned, but an order that arrives damaged, thawed or compromised is replaced at no cost when you email [email protected] within 24 hours with the order number and photos; boxes that arrive partially frozen but cool to the touch are safe to freeze or cook. Problems from improper storage after delivery or a wrong address are not covered. The independent record is thin: we found no Trustpilot or BBB profile and only a few on-site reviews, though USDA Rural Development and the Boulder Reporting Lab both name the business.

Buyer's guide

Miraflora Wagyu: what to know before you buy

Miraflora Wagyu sells American Wagyu from a family farm in Colorado, shipped frozen to US addresses. Here is what the beef is, what it costs, and how shipping and replacements work.

Shipping, returns & warranty

Miraflora delivers only within the US. Beef leaves frozen in an insulated container with dry ice, by two-day air from Denver International Airport or by UPS ground along Colorado's Front Range, and every order gets a tracking number. It ships early in the week so boxes do not sit in a facility over a weekend; the shipping page names Tuesday and Wednesday and product pages name Monday and Tuesday. Canada, Australia and the UK had no checkout option when we tested on 1 November 2026.

Orders must total at least $100, and shipping is free over $300. Below that, the checkout quoted $25 for standard ground or $35 for express to New York, and $20 or $30 within Colorado. No Christmas order-by date is published, so order gifts early in December and ask support for the last ship date.

Beef cannot be returned. If an order arrives damaged, thawed or compromised, Miraflora replaces it at no cost: email [email protected] within 24 hours of delivery with the order number, a short description and photos. A box that arrives partially frozen but still cool to the touch is safe to freeze or cook soon. Problems caused by improper storage after delivery, or delays from a wrong address or missing delivery instructions, are not covered.

Miraflora Wagyu product lines

Steaks include a 14 oz ribeye, 12 oz New York strip, 6 oz filet mignon, 8 oz top sirloin and butcher cuts such as Denver, coulotte, flat iron, bavette, skirt and flank. Roasts and ribs cover tri-tip, brisket flat, back ribs and Korean short ribs, and everyday items include ground beef, steakburgers, tenderloin bites, steak strips, hot dogs and sausages.

Gift boxes and holiday bundles pair steaks with burgers and sausage, and cow shares from a Freezer Filler to half a cow suit buyers with freezer space. Some cuts sell out between batches, so check stock before planning a menu.

How to choose Wagyu cuts

Miraflora's beef is American Wagyu, a Wagyu and Angus cross, so expect a richly marbled domestic steak rather than Japanese A5. The ribeye and New York strip are its premium steaks; the Denver, coulotte and top sirloin cost less and suit weeknight grilling. Miraflora recommends pan-searing ribeyes in cast iron.

For slow cooking, the tri-tip roast, back ribs and short ribs fit smokers and braises. For a first order, a mixed box such as the New to Wagyu Gift Box spreads the $100 minimum across several cuts.

Deals & pricing

Single steaks run from $23 for a top sirloin to $85 for a ribeye, and ground beef drops from $15 a pound to $99 for 10 pounds. Gift boxes are listed below the store's own compare-at prices, and Subscribe & Save takes 15% off deliveries every two weeks or every month. Shipping becomes free over $300, so a bundle or cow share can cost less per pound once delivery is counted. To watch for a lower price, set a price alert on our Watchlist at /watchlist/.

Miraflora Wagyu: questions people ask

Straight answers about Miraflora Wagyu, then how this review was written and stays independent.

About Miraflora Wagyu

Is Miraflora Wagyu legit?

Yes. Miraflora Wagyu LLC is a Colorado business launched in 2024 by the family behind the Miraflora farm in Boulder County. USDA Rural Development announced a grant to the company in February 2026, and it sells at the Boulder Farmers Market. Its online record is thin: we found no Trustpilot or BBB profile and only a few reviews on its own site.

Is Miraflora Wagyu Japanese A5?

No. Miraflora sells American Wagyu: cattle descended from Japanese Kuroge Wagyu genetics, crossed with Angus, which the company says are at least 50% Wagyu. A5 is a Japanese grade for beef raised in Japan. The company says its cuts score 8 to 10 on the Beef Marbling Scale, a figure we could not verify independently.

How is Miraflora Wagyu shipped, and what if it arrives thawed?

Beef ships frozen in an insulated box with dry ice, by two-day air from Denver, early in the week. It can arrive partially frozen and is safe if still cool to the touch. If it arrives damaged, thawed or compromised, Miraflora replaces it at no cost; email [email protected] within 24 hours of delivery with your order number and photos.

Does Miraflora Wagyu ship to Canada, Australia or the UK?

No. The checkout offered no shipping option for Canada, Australia or the UK when we tested it on 1 November 2026, and the shipping pages describe only US delivery. US addresses, including Alaska and Hawaii in our test, were quoted shipping rates.

How much is shipping at Miraflora Wagyu?

Shipping is free on orders over $300. Below that, the checkout quoted $25 for standard ground or $35 for express (one to two days) to a New York address, and $20 or $30 within Colorado. Orders must total at least $100.

About this review

Is this Miraflora Wagyu review sponsored?

No. Miraflora Wagyu did not pay for this write-up, see it before publication, or have any say in the verdict. If we earn anything it is a commission after you buy, and it comes out of the merchant’s margin rather than your price.

How was the Miraflora Wagyu assessed?

By using it and by checking the claims made about it against what it actually does. Where our time with something has been limited, the review says so rather than implying more testing than happened.

What else have you reviewed in Food & Drinks?

Everything in Food & Drinks sits in the review library, where you can filter by budget and sort by rating, price or how recently it landed.

Do you update reviews after publishing?

Yes — when a product changes, when a price moves for good, or when we get something wrong. Corrections are made on the piece itself with a note saying what changed.
