- Pick an accent colour. Text colour is adjusted so it stays easy to read.
- Download the PDF, or Word for a one-column version.
Questions
Is the PDF ATS-friendly?
Yes. Every word is real, selectable text in the standard PDF fonts (Helvetica or Times, the "standard 14" fonts of ISO 32000-1, section 9.6.2.2), in reading order, with no images for key information. In the two-column template the main column is stored first, so applicant-tracking systems read it in the right order.
Do two-column resumes confuse applicant-tracking systems?
Some older systems read columns side by side and mix the lines up. This PDF stores the main column first and the sidebar second, so text extracts in a sensible order. If an employer asks for a plain format, use the Word or plain-text download.
Is the PDF download really free?
Yes. Many online builders let you write for free and then charge to download. Here the PDF, Word and plain-text downloads are free, with no sign-up and no watermark. A free account only adds room for more saved resumes.
Can I edit it in Word or Google Docs?
Yes. Word (.docx) gives you a one-column file with real headings and bullet lists that opens in Word, Google Docs, Pages and LibreOffice.
Is my resume uploaded anywhere?
No. Your resume is saved only in this browser on this device, and the PDF and Word files are made on your device too. Use Save backup to keep a copy or move it to another device.
