Is the PDF download really free?
Yes. Many online builders let you write for free and then charge to download. Here the PDF, Word and plain-text downloads are free, with no sign-up and no watermark. A free account only adds room for more saved resumes.
Is the PDF ATS-friendly?
Yes. Every word is real, selectable text in the standard PDF fonts (Helvetica or Times, the "standard 14" fonts of ISO 32000-1, section 9.6.2.2), in reading order, with no images for key information. In the two-column template the main column is stored first, so applicant-tracking systems read it in the right order.
Can I edit it in Word or Google Docs?
Yes. Word (.docx) gives you a one-column file with real headings and bullet lists that opens in Word, Google Docs, Pages and LibreOffice.
How does "Fit to one page" work?
It measures the real PDF and, if it runs over, tightens spacing first, then text size and margins in small steps. Text never goes below 8.5 pt. If it still does not fit, nothing is changed and it suggests what to trim.
Why were some characters changed in my PDF?
The standard PDF fonts cover Western European letters (WinAnsiEncoding, ISO 32000-1 Annex D). Letters outside that set are swapped for the closest match and the tool tells you which. For other scripts, use Print and choose "Save as PDF", which uses the fonts on your device.
Is my resume uploaded anywhere?
No. Your resume is saved only in this browser on this device, and the PDF and Word files are made on your device too. Use Save backup to keep a copy or move it to another device.
