Questions

How are hours worked calculated?

For each day: end time minus start time, minus the unpaid break. A shift that ends before it starts, like 22:00 to 06:00, is counted as overnight.

How is overtime calculated?

Under the US Fair Labor Standards Act, non-exempt employees get at least 1.5 times their regular rate for hours over 40 in a workweek (U.S. Department of Labor). Some states and countries also have daily overtime rules, so you can change the threshold and rate.

What are decimal hours?

Hours written as a decimal for payroll: 7 hours 30 minutes is 7.5 hours, and 7 hours 45 minutes is 7.75 hours.

Are my hours saved anywhere?

No. Everything is worked out in your browser and nothing is sent to us. Use Copy result or Print to keep a record.
