Questions

How do I scan a QR code that is on my own screen?

Take a screenshot (Windows: Win+Shift+S, Mac: Cmd+Shift+4, phone: power + volume down), then paste it here with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V, or drop the file in.

Which image types work?

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and SVG, up to 40 MB and 50 megapixels each, and up to 10 images at a time. Very large photos are scanned at a smaller size first, then at full detail if nothing is found.

Is it safe to open the link in a QR code?

Only if you trust where it goes. Scammers stick fake codes on parking meters, posters and emails that lead to look-alike sites (the US Federal Trade Commission warns about this). This scanner never opens anything by itself: it shows the full address and the real domain first, flags warning signs such as link shorteners or unencrypted http, and only offers Open for normal web links.

Which codes can it read?

QR and Micro QR, Data Matrix, Aztec and PDF417, plus the common barcodes: EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, ITF and Codabar. Wi-Fi codes, contacts (vCard and MECARD), calendar events, email, phone, SMS and map locations are recognised and laid out for you.

Are my files uploaded to your servers?

No. The tool runs entirely inside your browser — your files are processed on your own device and never sent to In-Right or anyone else. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
