    Is my text saved or sent anywhere?

    No. Counting happens in your browser. You can keep a working draft and named drafts on this device only.

    How is reading time calculated?

    At 238 words per minute, the average adult silent-reading speed for non-fiction found in a 2019 review of 190 studies (Brysbaert, Journal of Memory and Language). Speaking time uses 150 words per minute.

    Does it count words in other languages?

    Yes. It uses your browser's language-aware word segmentation, so Chinese, Japanese and Thai are counted correctly too.

    How many pages is 1,000 words?

    About 2 pages single-spaced or 4 pages double-spaced, in a 12 pt font such as Times New Roman with 1-inch margins. Larger fonts and wider spacing make it longer.

    How many drafts can I keep?

    One named draft without an account, 20 with a free account and 100 with Pro. Drafts stay in this browser only.

    Are my files uploaded to your servers?

    No. The tool runs entirely inside your browser — your files are processed on your own device and never sent to In-Right or anyone else. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
