Questions
Can the organizer see who got whom?
Not unless they choose to. The organizer view lists names and links only. “Show all pairings” asks for confirmation first, which is handy if the organizer isn’t taking part.
Is anything sent to In-Right?
No. The names and the draw stay in your browser. Each match is locked inside that person’s link, after the # sign, and browsers never send that part of a link to a website’s server (RFC 3986, section 3.5). The lock is AES-GCM encryption with a different random key for every link, so a link that has been changed or cut short simply won’t open.
What budget works for an office Secret Santa?
Pick an amount everyone can manage without thinking twice. The office version starts at $25, and you can change it. Each person’s link includes a button to gift ideas in that budget.
What if no draw is possible?
You’ll see exactly why, for example “Alex and Bea can only buy for Cal between them”. Remove one of the rules involving those people, or add more people.
What happens if I redraw or lose the links?
Redrawing makes new links, and old links still open the old match, so send everyone their new one. Save the draw on this device to resend links later, or print cards with a QR code for each person.
