Pros
- Voron-Style Printing Without the Kit Build: The SV08 prints 350 x 350 x 345 mm at up to 700 mm/s on Klipper for £389, and Tom's Hardware's 2024 review called it probably the best Voron-lite printer it had seen, with a list-topping 13-minute 25-second speed Benchy.
- Free Delivery From a UK Warehouse: Printers and accessories ship free to any UK address with no minimum, are processed within 48 hours and arrive in 2 to 5 business days from the UK warehouse without import duties.
- A True Large-Format Option: The SV08 Max prints up to 500 x 500 x 500 mm with eddy-current bed scanning for £790, or £949 with its enclosure, and Tom's Hardware called it the biggest CoreXY machine it had reviewed, with good print quality.
Cons
- Sovol UK ships only to addresses in the United Kingdom, so shoppers in the US, Canada and Australia cannot order from it and should use Sovol's global store, sovol3d.com, which prices in US dollars and ships from warehouses in those countries.
- These printers reward tinkering, and service reviews are mixed at about 3.6 out of 5 on Trustpilot with a third of ratings at one star, while the 1-year warranty excludes printers modified with third-party parts or firmware, so keep the stock setup and the original box until you are sure your machine is sound.
The Verdict
What sets Sovol apart is open-source, Voron-style CoreXY printers that arrive nearly assembled, now shipped from a UK warehouse: Sovol, a Shenzhen 3D printer maker that dates its brand to 2018, built the SV08 as an openly labeled, mass-produced version of the Voron 2.4, a design hobbyists usually spend days building from a kit. Sovol ships it 90% assembled and quotes about an hour of setup. It prints 350 x 350 x 345 mm at up to 700 mm/s on Klipper, runs linear rails on all seven axes and carries a camera, and Sovol donates $2 to the Voron project for every unit sold. Tom's Hardware's May 2024 review called it probably the best Voron-lite printer it had seen, and in March 2026 it called the 500 x 500 x 500 mm SV08 Max the biggest CoreXY machine it had reviewed, with good quality. Sovol opened sovol.uk in December 2025 to serve UK buyers locally. Prices are in pounds. The SV08 costs £389, or £519 with an enclosure, and the SV08 Max costs £790, or £949 enclosed. The M1D, an IDEX tool-changer with up to seven toolheads, is on pre-order at £1,100 for the Essential and £1,320 for the Advanced with a 60°C heated chamber, due to ship between late December 2026 and early January 2027. Filament dryers cost £35 to £79, 2kg of Sovol PLA costs £19, and most prices sit below a crossed-out regular price, such as £469 on the SV08. Delivery is free to any UK address with no minimum: orders are processed within 48 hours and arrive in 2 to 5 business days from the UK warehouse, while parts sent from China take 5 to 10 business days and are listed as tax not included. Know the limits before you order. The store ships only within the UK, so buyers in the US, Canada and Australia should use Sovol's global store, sovol3d.com. These open machines reward tuning: Tom's Hardware said the SV08 Max needs an experienced hand, and owners on Sovol's forum report toolhead connection errors and bed-leveling drift on early SV08s. Service reviews are mixed, about 3.6 out of 5 from 100 Trustpilot reviews with 34% at one star and replies that typically take over a month. Returns run 14 days with postage on you unless the item is faulty, and the warranty covers printers for a year but accessories for only a month and excludes modified machines. Keep the box, calibrate before big prints and save third-party upgrades until your printer has proved itself.
Open-Source CoreXY 3D Printers With Free Delivery From a UK Warehouse
Sovol UK (sovol.uk) is the UK store of Sovol, a Shenzhen 3D printer maker that dates its brand to 2018; it opened in December 2025 and ships only to UK addresses. The SV08 costs £389, or £519 with an enclosure, and the SV08 Max costs £790, or £949 with its enclosure. The SH01, SH02 and four-spool SH03 filament dryers cost £35, £41 and £79, 2kg of Sovol PLA costs £19, and most prices sit below a crossed-out regular price, such as £469 on the SV08.
Delivery is free to any UK address with no minimum; orders are processed within 48 hours and arrive in 2 to 5 business days from the UK warehouse with no import duties, or in 5 to 10 business days when a part ships from China, and such parts are listed as tax not included. The SV08 builds 350 x 350 x 345 mm at up to 700 mm/s on Klipper with a camera and a 24V, 150W power supply, and the SV08 Max builds 500 x 500 x 500 mm with eddy-current bed scanning. Sovol says its machines pass CE, FCC and RoHS testing and FCC records list a Wi-Fi radio approval for the SV08, though we found no UL or ETL safety listing. Shoppers in the US, Canada and Australia should buy from Sovol's global store, sovol3d.com, which ships from warehouses in those countries.
Returns must be requested within 14 days of delivery and approved before sending; unless an item is faulty you pay the return postage, deducted from the refund if Sovol supplies the label, and approved refunds reach the original payment method within 10 business days. Printers and dryers carry a 1-year warranty, the extruder 3 months and accessories 1 month, with nozzles and build plates treated as consumables, modified printers excluded and lifetime technical support by email. Sovol's global store averages about 3.6 out of 5 from 100 Trustpilot reviews, with 34% at one star and replies that typically take over a month; sovol.uk has no Trustpilot profile and we found no BBB listing. Tom's Hardware praised the SV08 in 2024 and found the SV08 Max good but demanding in 2026, while owners on Sovol's forum report toolhead connection errors and bed-leveling drift on early SV08s.
Sovol: what to know before you buy
A quick guide to Sovol's UK store: what the SV08, SV08 Max and M1D printers cost in pounds, how free UK delivery and returns work, what the warranty covers, and where shoppers outside the UK should buy instead.
Shipping, returns & warranty
Sovol UK delivers free to any UK address with no minimum order, and our checkout test on 26 October 2026 quoted free delivery to Belfast and the Western Isles as well as London. Orders are usually processed within 48 hours; stock in the UK warehouse arrives in 2 to 5 business days with no customs duties or import taxes. Many spare parts are listed as shipping from China to the UK, tax not included, and take about 5 to 10 business days; anything out of stock in the UK warehouse may also ship from China. A printer ordered with filament or accessories usually ships in separate parcels, and Sovol does not deliver to PO boxes or military addresses.
Returns: ask within 14 days of delivery and wait for approval before sending anything. Items must be unused, complete and in their original packaging, and an approved return must be posted within 15 days. If the item is not faulty, you pay the return postage, and Sovol deducts it from the refund when it supplies the label. Refunds go back to the original payment method within 10 business days of approval. Transit damage, a wrong item or a serious fault can be replaced within 30 days of delivery.
Warranty: 3D printers and filament dryers are covered for 1 year, the extruder unit for 3 months and accessories for 1 month. Nozzles and print plates are consumables, cosmetic damage is excluded, and the printer must not be modified, including with third-party parts or firmware. Sovol pays return shipping for quality faults under warranty, and the policy says it does not affect your statutory rights. Support is by email at [email protected], with replies promised within 48 hours.
Sovol product lines
SV08: Sovol's mass-produced take on the Voron 2.4, a CoreXY printer with a 350 x 350 x 345 mm build volume, speeds up to 700 mm/s, linear rails on all seven axes, four independent Z motors, a camera and a PEI steel plate. Sovol ships it 90% pre-assembled. £389, or £519 with an enclosure; the SV08 Glass Open Enclosure also sells separately for £129.
SV08 Max: the large-format version, 500 x 500 x 500 mm (450 mm tall with the enclosure), with eddy-current bed scanning, an auxiliary filament feeder and an optional chamber heating module (£59). £790, or £949 with the enclosure.
M1D (pre-order): an IDEX tool-changer that pairs one fixed toolhead with six swappable ones for up to seven colors or materials in a 300 x 300 x 350 mm volume. The Essential costs £1,100; the Advanced, at £1,320, adds a full enclosure and a chamber heated to 60°C. UK shipping is due between late December 2026 and early January 2027.
Filament dryers: SH01 (£35), SH02 (£41) and SH03 (£79), which holds four 1kg spools and heats to 85°C.
Filament and parts: Sovol PLA and PETG (2kg from £19 for PLA and £16.99 for PETG, 10kg packs from £69), plus nozzles, hotends, extruders, build plates and enclosure kits.
How to choose a Sovol printer
Start with size. The SV08's 350 x 350 x 345 mm volume handles large functional parts and props in one piece. The SV08 Max's 500 mm cube is for very large prints and needs a big, sturdy spot: it measures 700 x 710 x 750 mm, and Tom's Hardware put it at close to 100 pounds with the enclosure and ended up placing it on the floor.
Then materials. The open-frame printers suit PLA, PETG and TPU. For ABS, ASA, PA or PC, add an enclosure (the SV08 bundle at £519, or the SV08 Max enclosure kit plus the £59 chamber heater), or choose the M1D Advanced with its 60°C heated chamber.
Then color. The SV08 and SV08 Max print one filament at a time; the M1D switches between up to seven toolheads, which Sovol says keeps purge waste near zero, but it is a pre-order with UK shipping due from late December 2026.
Finally, be honest about tinkering. These printers run open Klipper firmware and expect you to set the Z offset and look after the toolhead yourself, and Tom's Hardware said the SV08 Max needs an experienced hand. If you want a sealed, ready-to-run machine, compare an enclosed mainstream printer before you buy.
Deals & pricing
Sovol UK lists most printers and dryers below a crossed-out regular price, for example the SV08 at £389 against £469 and the SH03 dryer at £79 against £159. Treat those as the store's standing sale prices and compare what you actually pay. We have not found a Sovol UK coupon code, and none is needed for the listed prices.
Bundles save little: the SV08 Max with its enclosure costs £949, the same as the printer at £790 plus the £159 enclosure kit bought separately. Black Friday falls on 27 November 2026; to catch a real drop on a specific printer or dryer, set a price alert on /watchlist/.
Buying from outside the UK
Sovol runs separate regional stores. Sovol.uk sells only to UK addresses; it sends EU shoppers to sovol.eu and everyone else to sovol3d.com.
Sovol's global store, sovol3d.com, prices in US dollars and ships from warehouses in the US, Canada and Australia, among others, but not to Alaska, Hawaii, Guam or Puerto Rico. On 26 October 2026 it listed the SV08 at $529, the SV08 Max at $1,049, the budget SV06 ACE at $239 and the M1D from $1,499, with the same 14-day return and 1-year printer warranty terms as the UK store.
Shipping on the global store depends on the model and destination. Our checkout test quoted free shipping on the SV08 to New York and on the SV08 Max to Los Angeles, $10 on the SV06 ACE to Chicago, $15 on the SV08 to Sydney and $100 on the SV08 Max to Toronto, so check the shipping line before you pay.

Sovol: questions people ask
Straight answers about Sovol, then how this review was written and stays independent.
Is Sovol legit?
Yes. Sovol is an established Shenzhen 3D printer maker; its UK store's policies name Shenzhen Liandianchuang Technology Co., Ltd., the same company that holds the FCC approval for the SV08's Wi-Fi radio. Sovol.uk opened in December 2025 and ships from a UK warehouse. Service reviews are mixed: Sovol's global store averages about 3.6 out of 5 from 100 Trustpilot reviews, with 34% at one star.
Does Sovol UK ship to the US, Canada or Australia?
No. Sovol.uk ships only to UK addresses; it sends EU shoppers to sovol.eu and everyone else to sovol3d.com. Sovol's global store, sovol3d.com, prices in US dollars and ships from warehouses in the US, Canada and Australia, and on 26 October 2026 it listed the SV08 at $529 and the SV08 Max at $1,049.
What is Sovol's return policy?
You have 14 days after delivery to request a return, and Sovol must approve it before you send anything. Items must be unused, complete and in their original packaging. If the item isn't faulty, you pay the return postage, which Sovol deducts from the refund when it supplies the label, and approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days. Damaged, wrong or seriously faulty items can be replaced within 30 days.
What warranty does Sovol give?
Sovol covers 3D printers and filament dryers for 1 year from receipt, the extruder unit for 3 months and accessories for 1 month. Nozzles and print plates are consumables and aren't covered, and the printer must not have been modified, including with third-party parts or firmware. Sovol pays return shipping for quality faults under warranty and offers lifetime technical support by email or remote session.
How long does Sovol UK delivery take?
Orders are usually processed within 48 hours. Stock in the UK warehouse arrives in 2 to 5 business days, free and with no import duties. If a part has to ship from China it takes about 5 to 10 business days, and those listings say tax not included. A printer ordered with filament or accessories usually arrives in separate parcels.
Is the Sovol SV08 good for beginners?
It suits confident beginners and tinkerers better than first-timers. Sovol ships the SV08 90% pre-assembled and quotes about an hour of setup, and Tom's Hardware found it printed well out of the box, but it runs open Klipper firmware and owners report having to recalibrate the Z offset. Tom's Hardware said the larger SV08 Max needs an experienced hand to tune.
Is this Sovol review sponsored?
No. Sovol did not pay for this write-up, see it before publication, or have any say in the verdict. If we earn anything it is a commission after you buy, and it comes out of the merchant’s margin rather than your price.
How was the Sovol assessed?
By using it and by checking the claims made about it against what it actually does. Where our time with something has been limited, the review says so rather than implying more testing than happened.
What else have you reviewed in Tech?
Everything in Tech sits in the review library, where you can filter by budget and sort by rating, price or how recently it landed.
Do you update reviews after publishing?
Yes — when a product changes, when a price moves for good, or when we get something wrong. Corrections are made on the piece itself with a note saying what changed.
